Research Tourism and Media Production<p>Sumedang, Indonesia – The Indonesia University of Education, Sumedang Campus proudly celebrates the international accomplishments of its alumni, particularly from the Tourism Industry Study Program, who are making impactful contributions to the global tourism and creative sectors. A notable example is Muhamad Taufiq, a 2024 graduate who has significantly elevated Indonesia’s presence on the international stage through his diverse roles in tourism, research, and media production.<br>Muhamad Taufiq, who completed his undergraduate degree in 2024, currently works as an International Tour Leader, Tourism Researcher, and Travel Content Creator. His professional journey has taken him across 28 countries, including the United States, New Zealand, Switzerland, and Spain, where he leads guided tours, conducts academic research, and shares intercultural travel narratives through digital media platforms.</p><p>Beyond his individual career, Taufiq is the Co-Founder of Mamote Go Indonesia, a travel company that specializes in curated thematic tours abroad. The company merges recreational travel with cultural learning, aiming to transform the way Indonesians engage with the world through immersive, educational travel experiences.</p><p>“My experience at UPI Sumedang was more than just academic,” said Taufiq. “The fieldwork, industry exposure, and hands on application of theory gave me the confidence and capability to operate professionally in a global setting.”</p><p>In 2021, Taufiq also directed MANTAPPS (Music and Tourism Activity Promotion on Pandemic Situation), a creative collaboration between the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and the Department of Culture, Youth, Sports, and Tourism of Sumedang Regency. This initiative aimed to revitalize the music and performing arts sub-sectors amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.</p><p>Dr. Irena Novarlia, M.Pd., M.M., Head of the Tourism Industry Study Program, emphasized the critical role that alumni play in both academic advancement and institutional development.</p><p>“Our alumni are strategic partners in our academic evolution,” she stated. “Their insights from the field help us continuously improve our curriculum and pedagogy. Alumni like Taufiq are not merely graduates; they have become global ambassadors, showcasing the excellence of the Tourism Industry Study Program at the Indonesia University of Education, Sumedang Campus, while promoting Indonesia’s cultural and professional presence on the world stage.”</p><p>With a strong foundation in both theory and applied experience, the Tourism Industry Study Program at the Indonesia University of Education, Sumedang Campus, continues to empower the next generation of Indonesian youth to become leaders in sustainable, creative, and globally competitive tourism.</p>
